UEAS Swat has approved new departments

and degree programmes.

On Monday, the senate of the newly established University of Engineering and Applied Sciences (UEAS) in Swat authorised various colleges, departments, and degree programmes.

The meeting was held in the Governor’s House and was presided over by the university’s pro-vice-chancellor (PVC) and Minister of Higher Education, Kamran Bangash, according to the News.

The assembly approved the construction of university laws as well as the university’s budget for fiscal year 2022-23.

At the meeting, the subject of recruiting based on a unique pay scale was discussed. A group comprised of officials from the chancellor’s office, the Higher Education Department, and the Finance Department was created to provide recommendations. The committee has 14 days to submit its findings.

The university also chose last month to send the first batch of students and lecturers to Cambridge University as part of the Ph.D. scholarship programme.

The Department of Higher Education, KP, and the Cambridge Trust have announced that they will jointly support the scholarships. For the first time in Pakistan’s history, every academic staff member will graduate from a foreign university as part of a faculty development strategy.
