The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has started an Undergraduate Scholarship Program (4/5 Years BS Programme) for students addressing from Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) with the purpose to furnish youth with a fresh education for forthcoming challenges and provide them with the option to get a higher education. The Undergraduate Scholarship Program for Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) students will provide financial assistance that will grant them to pursue higher studies in all top universities/institutions across Pakistan for the progress of their province and the country.
Eligibility Criteria
General eligibility criteria for the Undergraduate Scholarship for Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) students are outlined below:
The applicants must have a domicile/local certificate of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The applicants must have completed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and/or Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) and/or Equivalent, however, priority will be given to those students who have passed/completed their SSC/HSSC or Equal from Gilgit-Baltistan.
The applicants who are already serving any other HEC/Government scholarship are NOT eligible to apply.
Students already enrolled in any BS Program before advertisement maximum of one academic year/ session may also apply.
The award of scholarships will be made regardless of gender, caste, race, and religion.
The applicants can apply to any Public Sector university/institution in Pakistan. However, any expenditure over and above the cost given in PC-1 will be borne by the student himself/herself.

What Will The Scholarship Covering?
The scholarship program will provide qualified students with tuition fees, hostel fees, and other dues (maximum of Rs. 240,000 per year) along with a stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month as well as books and traveling allowances of up to Rs. 30,000 every year for the duration of the scholarship.
How to Apply?
The students are required to deposit Rs. 500 (non-refundable) in any branch of HBL as an application fee and submit a copy of the bank receipt online and apply for the Undergraduate Scholarship Program through the following HEC Online Application System at https://eportal.hec.gov.pk/.
Moreover, the students are advised to keep their log-in ID and Password safe for future use.

Selection Procedure
Advertisement in print media and the HEC website for inviting the applications of potential candidates.
HEC Scholarship Aptitude Test shall be arranged by HEC/ETC. Applicants must obtain at least 50% marks on the test. The test result will be effective for 01 years.
Advertisements in the media and on the HEC website ask suitable applicants to apply.
HEC/ETC will organize the HEC Scholarship Aptitude Test. Applicants must get at least 50% on the exam. The results of the test will be valid for one year.
Applicants will be short-listed based on their Aptitude Test results (conducted by HEC) and Academic Credentials as weighted/calculated as follows: SSC 10%, HSSC 40%, and Scholarship Aptitude Test 50%.
Shortlisted applicants’ applications/particulars will be evaluated in light of the established qualifying requirements.
Seats that are not filled in a given year will be changed in the next year.
Scholarships will be offered to students pursuing BS (4 to 5 years) courses at HEC-recognized public sector universities/degree awarding institutions in Pakistan.
The shortlisted applicants must get admission to the specified program of study in Pakistan on their own.
Before receiving the scholarship, the scholar must sign an agreement/undertaking. The terms and conditions outlined in the agreement/undertaking of an award letter are legally binding on both parties.
After obtaining admission and completing all relevant requirements, including the legal documentation, final award letters will be sent.
